My name is Jack Petropoulos. I am the owner of Tread Lightly Earth Works, a small landscape construction company located in Groton, Massachusetts. I specialize in helping homeowners with small scale, land sensitive, light excavation, in tight places at reasonable rates.
At the end of the day you could say that I dig holes and lift heavy stuff. But as the name implies, my business is more than just excavation. It is built around the match between my personal ethics, the capabilities of my equipment, and the needs of landowners to access excavation services at reasonable rates. I have a special commitment to the environment. With my low overhead and specialized equipment, I can accept small scale or impact sensitive projects, that larger outfits tend to avoid. From walkways and patios, to foundations,drainage and grading, to stumps and rocks, I can help you to move and shape the earth with minimal consequence to the land and your wallet.

I enjoy helping homeowners with their projects or working on my own. Why rent a bobcat or backhoe when I can help you on site with better equipment for about the same cost? Most of my business comes from local home and land owners. As a small business in a tight community,
